Indicator lights a tad too bright.

Review by TioBasilio

Great - my wife thinks it's too modern in styling, I think it's great.

If you set it come on automatically the indicator light is a tad too bright for me. (Posted on 27/01/2015)

Clock face

Review by Phil

Sorry, but I am EXTREMELY dissapointed with my purchase.

When laying in bed, it dosnt matter were I place the Teasmade. I CANNOT READ THE TIME !

I could make a "a cup of tea" with an ELECTRIC KETTLE.

The clockface is CRAP. (Posted on 16/12/2012)

Does the job well. BUT that awfull clockface light.....

Review by tommy1

After just 18mths, the clockface light has stopped working. I should be pleased!....But it is impossible to read the time, even with reading light on..... Which is pretty useless at the best of times. Never mind... (Posted on 21/05/2012)

Does what it says on the tin

Review by Rip Pip

Clock light is very bright but screeen dimmers are available free from Swan (Posted on 15/07/2010)

Too bright for its own good

Review by Fred Bassett

Great machine, does what it says on the tin. Pity the clock lighting is so bright - it is like a searchlight in a dark bedroom. (Posted on 15/07/2010)

Teasmade is very good works like a dream

Review by Nana Pam

Teasmade is a replacement for an old Teasmade I had used for years, very difficult to get hold of, but I do like my cup of Tea when I wake up in the morning. Easy to use and makes a perfect cuppa. (Posted on 15/07/2010)

Can't believe it was road-tested

Review by pleasance

This teasmade looks good but it really is a case of style over function. The blue clock face is extremely bright and casts a strong disturbing blue glow over a dark room that you can almost read by. Swan provides two dimmer patches to place over the light but even with both on I find the light disturbing - and I'm not particularly sensitive to light at night. And, irritatingly, you can't even read the time on the clock face. The LCD clock arms ''disappear'' when viewed at any angle apart from straight on and slightly above. They totally disappear from any angle viewed at when you are in an average height bed when the teasmade is on an average bedside table. I actually complained to Swan and they tell me this ''fault'' is in the nature of an LCD face - which is nonsense. I have had LCD bedside clocks for years and never experienced this.
In short, the machine does indeed make tea as required. It is easy to use. But it is hugely flawed by a design and technology to which Swan was obviously wedded (and is indeed pretty) but which is unsuitable for purpose. I am very disappointed in this purchase and can't recommend it. (Posted on 15/07/2010)

Lovely cuppa but clock face light

Review by Shelley

Loved the cuppa tea first thing in the morning but you will need it after the sleepless night you get from the clock face light. It has its own reading light which you can turn on and off which is fine but the light coming from the clock face is so bright that my husband woke in the middle of the night and thought he was at a blue light disco. I slept with my pillow in my face. There is no dimmer switch and no way of turning it off. (Posted on 15/07/2010)

I would buy this product every time

Review by The Early Riser

The Swan Teasmade is the best on the market. We have been using a Swan Teasmade for twenty or more years and couldn't start the day without our tea in bed in the morning (Posted on 15/07/2010)

Swan Automatic Teasmade STM100

Review by chelogirl

We really like the product...apart from the VERY BRIGHT BLUE clock face, but we were aware of this before purchasing the item(I read other reviews).
If it lasts as long as the one it replaced (approx 20 yrs; also a Swan Teasmade) we'll be satisfied. (Posted on 15/07/2010)

Does the Job

Review by Early Bird

Bought as a replacement for a MicroMart tea maker which developed a leak after 18 months. Shape is more attractive, it has a light instead of a radio (niether are particularly good or useful) and while the face light is blue instead of green, it is much too bright at night - despite having put both supplied transparent discs over it I still have to cover it up. BUT it makes the tea quickly which is what matters and, since I suspect it is made in the same factory, so long as it doesn't develope a leak too it's just fine! (Posted on 15/07/2010)

best way to wake up in the morning

Review by Sewing Shirley

this is the third teasmade that I have had,in over 35 years. it is very pleasant to look at and so easy to use. one thing that I would change is the restful, but blue light that is on all the time. took a bit of getting used to. (Posted on 15/07/2010)
